Flight Plan
A Flight Plan has been developed at Dove to help each person to recognize Jesus, learn from Jesus’ teaching, and discover Christ’s destination for his or her life. There are several levels where you may become involved on your journey of faith.
Level One: On Board
What’s so Amazing about Grace? A Philip Yancey study exploring the meaning of Grace. If grace is God’s love for the undeserving, then what does it look like in action? How do we become living answers to a world that desperately needs kindness and mercy instead of cruelty and violence? Facilitated by Kelli New. Begins January 9 and runs for 10 weeks.
Too Busy Not to Pray (Bill Hybels): A seven-week study on learning to slow down in order to talk with God and listen for God’s guidance. Facilitated by Kathi Upham.
Level Two: In Flight
The Three Simple Rules, a Wesleyan Way of Living: Explore three principles of Christian living - do no harm, do good, and stay in love with God. Thursday evenings, 7:15 p.m. Facilitated by Joe Pierotti and Dave New. Begins on February 2 and continues for six weeks.
Level Three: Landing
Disciple I: A 34-week study.
Walk to Emmaus: Men’s walk February 16, 2012; women’s walk February 23, 2012
Level Four: Journey
Companions in Christ--The Way of Grace: This small group study invites participants to travel with eight biblical characters who discover God’s grace through their encounters with Jesus. This is a two-hour meeting time for 10 weeks, facilitated by Judy Decker.
Introduction to Spiritual Direction: Spiritual Direction is a process that helps us recognize God’s guidance which is there for us if we are open to it. It is a three-way relationship between the director, directee and God. The director helps the directee become aware of God’s presence and movement in his/her life journey.
