Dove of the Desert in conjunction with the Mighty United Methodist Coalition (a coalition of valley Methodist churches) are working with Habitat for Humanity on a new home build this spring. This is a mission with which Dove has been previously involved where we have helped several different families achieve the security and stability of home ownership. This spring we have another opportunity to help both financially and through volunteer work during the construction of this home.

The home is being built in Glendale at 5409 West Palmaire Ave. We have several dates where we need volunteers to help and they are listed below:

January 15, 2011 Framing
February 5, 2011 Roof Decking
April 16, 2011 Touch Up and Dedication

There may be more dates so stay tuned. We generally start around 7 or 7:30 a.m. and work until about 1-2 p.m. Breakfast and lunch are provided.

Note that you do not have to have previous construction experience to be involved.
