Pet Ministry

WE LOVE OUR PETS! 

And so, we love to help pets less fortunate than ours.  Animals are a part of our lives.  They are part of our families and are a gift from God.

Dove of the Desert has created a Pet Ministry to help rescue organizations with donations until their animals are adopted by their forever families.  We donate to one rescue organization per quarter, including the following:  

•  Arizona Humane Society
•  Animals Benefit Club (ABC) 
•  Animal Rescue Friends (ARF) 
•  Sun Valley Animal Rescue

Bring your donations the first Sunday of each month. 
Most rescue organizations need donations for kittens, adult cats, puppies, and adult dogs.  Some organizations also take donations for rabbits, gerbils, and other critters.  You can also donate cash, check, or Scrip cards.  Donations can be left in the Church Office or Narthex at any time.

Requested donations, in addition to cash/check, include:
Dry or wet food, treats, toys, beds, collars/leashes, cat litter and pans.
They also appreciate paper towels, bleach, and used towels, sheets, and blankets.

To assist Dove of the Desert’s members with their pets, we also offer:

ANIMAL BLESSING – an annual “Blessing of the Pets” service is usually held in November.  This is open to anyone.

PET TIPS  –  We have assembled pet tip cards, and they are available in our Narthex. 

CARD MINISTRY – Notify the Church Office and we will send a card upon the death or major illness of a pet.

DEATH OF PETS -- If you have lost a pet and would like to donate their items (leash, bowl, food, etc.),
please let the Church Office know, and we will pick up the items and donate them to a shelter.
