GriefShare Program
GriefShare is a caring community for those navigating the difficult journey of grief and loss. Through shared experiences, thoughtful conversation, and meaningful support, participants have a place to talk, listen, and find encouragement among others who understand what it means to grieve. Whether your loss is recent or happened some time ago, you don’t have to walk through grief alone. At Dove of the Desert, we offer a welcoming space where you can take the time you need to heal, remember, and find hope along the way. Music Ministry
Dove of the Desert is blessed with a wealth of musical talent in our midst. From the majestic voices of the Celebration Singers and the bright, joyful sound of the Dove Bell Choir to the upbeat, contemporary music of the Praise Team, our congregation is filled with vocalists and instrumentalists who bring their gifts to worship. Together, these many expressions of music enrich our worship experience and help make Dove a place where people of all ages can sing, play, and praise together.
Quilt Group
The Quilt Group is a welcoming place to share a love of quilting, sewing, and creativity. Members work on their own projects while enjoying good conversation and fellowship, and the group also comes together to create lap quilts for local foster care and veteran ministries.
The group meets every Friday at 1:00 pm in Room 22. Bring your sewing machine, supplies, and whatever project you’re working on. No sign-up is required, and all experience levels are welcome! If you have questions, please contact Judy Martin.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
The Prayer Shawl Ministry brings together knitters and crocheters to create handmade gifts of comfort, care, and prayer. Twice a month, the group gathers to make shawls, baby blankets, lap blankets, prayer squares, and other items to share with Dove members and others who may be in need of encouragement and support.
The group meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 9:00–10:00 am in Room 7. New faces are always welcome! For more information, please contact Mimi Griffiths.
DayBreak Social Mixer
The Social Day Break Mixer is a chance to step away from the everyday routine and enjoy good food, fellowship, and a little fun. This monthly daytime gathering begins with lunch, followed by an afternoon of games, conversation, and time together with friends from Dove.
The group typically meets on the second or third Wednesday of the month from 11:30 am–2:00 pm. A $5 donation is welcome in the lunch line. For more information, please contact Dee May.
Lunch Bunch
The Lunch Bunch brings together Dove friends of all ages for a monthly meal, good conversation, and plenty of fellowship. Each month, the group gathers at a local restaurant for a chance to enjoy one another’s company and get to know others in our church community.
Lunch Bunch meets on the first Thursday of every month. Everyone is welcome! Because the group visits different restaurants, an RSVP is important so there is room for everyone. To join the Lunch Bunch or RSVP for an upcoming gathering, please contact Steve and Rita Snyder.
Dove Men's Group
The Dove Men’s Group is a place for the men of our church to build friendships, grow in faith, and serve others together. Gathering each month over refreshments and conversation, the group creates space to get to know one another, share life and faith, and encourage one another along the way.
The group also puts faith into action through mission projects, supporting ministries at Dove, and finding ways to serve our church and community. The Dove Men’s Group meets on the second Monday of each month, and all men are welcome to join the conversation, fellowship, and service. For more information, contact John Huie.
