Imagine No Malaria

Every 60 seconds, malaria claims a life in Africa. It kills an estimated 655,000 people each year, most of them children under 5 and pregnant women. Transmitted through the bite of a female anopheles mosquito, malaria is a parasite that initially causes fever, vomiting and joint pain. Left untreated, its symptoms progress to convulsions, organ failure and death. 

 

Yet, malaria is 100% preventable, treatable and beatable!

 

Imagine! Jesus calls the church to live out its mission. It's time to imagine a United Methodist Church that feels and responds to the Vision of a world without malaria and includes us all in this mighty work.

Dove of the Desert joins with the Desert Southwest Conference in helping to raise $75 million dollars over the next three years to save 200,000 lives. A gift of $28 per month over three years amounts to just over $1,000, which can save 100 lives.
